As a way to encourage literacy even in the youngest of children, Mymcbooks has started a Birthday Library Program. This program gives away a free book to children between the ages of two and five each year on their birthday. There is no catch, and you will never be asked for your credit card information.
I wish my girls were young enough to join this program, but alas, they are now 10 and 12. Still, I wanted to share this amazing opportunity with you in case you do have children that fall into the program's current age range.
Here is how it works: You must register with Mymcbooks, and remain a subscriber. You'll need to provide information on your children, including their names and ages. Then you need to add your mailing address so that the books can reach your children. Don't unsubscribe after registering, as the website owners have caught on to this trick. As long as you remain a subscriber, your child will get their book a week or two before their birthday arrives.
The website does have a list of current books that you can browse, although Mymcbooks will be the ones selecting and shipping a book of their choice to your child. The company does have a maximum amount of participants it is willing to accept. If this happens, you can still register, and your information will be kept on file for the next time a child ages out of the program.
Of course, if you are an author, Mymcbooks is accepting donated books that are appropriate for children between the ages of two and five.
