Although I homeschool my daughter, I have plenty of friends that teach in schools around my area. I stumbled across a free publishing guide for teachers that I was excited to share with them. In fact, I'm going to see if they will allow homeschooling moms to use it as well.
All you have to do is sign up for a copy of the free publishing guide online. Very little information is required. Simply fill in your name, e-mail address, school name and telephone number. Once you're done, click “submit.” Instantly, you will be able to access the free download in the e-mail address you used.
The publishing guide is 44 pages long and describes in detail how teachers can use the program to have their students create a book. This book can have pictures as well as words. In fact, the company even gives teachers examples of how they can use the book in a grammar class, social studies class, science class and even a math class.
There are two age groups to choose from: kindergarten through 3rd grade and 4th grade through 6th grade. The younger group will receive a mail-in kit to use in order to submit their finished book. The older children can submit their books online, or use the mail-in kit like the younger children.
Each student receives a free copy of their finished book. Parents, family members and teachers can use a special code to order more copies if they wish. Only the first copy for each student is free.
I love this program. I did a similar program with my daughter during National Writer's Month. She was so proud of her finished book that she showed it to everyone. It really does help to boost a child's confidence.
