When I first started seeing JCPenney’s ads on television a month ago, I couldn’t figure out what they were about. It turns out that JCPenney is no longer going to have sales, or offer coupons. They are implementing a new strategy, and I personally think it is a brilliant one.
Instead of sales and coupons, JCPenney now has three prices throughout the store that are color coded. If you spot red tags, for example, you’ll be looking at the new lower everyday prices. White tags indicate merchandise that has a special price for the entire month. Finally, the blue tags offer the biggest savings. Every first and third Friday of each month, you will find a wide range of clothes and household items that have blue tags. These tags indicate the lowest prices JCPenney has to offer.
I plan on hitting JCPenney later today, since it is the third Friday of the month. I did do a little research, however, and found out that you can take advantage of these great deals online as well. You don’t have to pay shipping either, as long as you choose to have your items shipped to your local JCPenney store. The store will call you as soon as the items arrive, which is usually pretty quick.
One of the deals I spotted online today was a pair of Junior skinny jeans for $13. I paid $17 for these exact jeans last week. Now I wish I had waited so that I could have saved $5. Today though, I’ll be helping my daughter search for a summer bathing suit. Amazingly, these are on sale today for $6 to $15. I usually have trouble finding bathing suits under $20 so I consider this a steal!
